Here’s a little series showing the steps the 3D model goes through to become less “3D-ish” and more cartoony. This was from a time when the characters were going to be more single tone, with no shading. I’ve since changed the style a bit.
- Original 3D model
- Apply pwToon shaders with my settings.
- Removing texture from the model.
- Adding hair prop.
- Default pwToon shaders on hair prop.
- Tweaking hair prop surface shader settings.
- Removing texture from tunic.
- Changed some clothing models. Worked on clothing colors.
- Test using V4 bodysuit rather than tunic for upper body.
- Some minor tweaks.
- Added bracers and color work.
- Oh, now she has a dragon.
